Dinner
Planter’s Tavern at the Olde Pink House – soak up the ambience
Alligator Soul – great regional cuisine and a fabulous chef’s tasting menu
700 Drayton Restaurant – unique dining in my family’s old funeral home – also not to be missed are the fantastic Winemaker’s Dinners, Bourbon Tastings, & Truffle dinners.
Green Truck Burgers – Savannah’s Grassfed Burger Joint
Crystal Beer Parlor – the Georga Cracka nachos are amazing – come as you are as its casual
Elizabeth’s on 37th – the best service in town – classic Southern dining
Leoci’s Trattoria – their outdoor deck is a great place to enjoy their traditional Italian fare
Lunch
Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House – get there early and bring a book while you wait in line
Papilliote – French and Fast
Cafe 37 – the oyster po boy and pork sandwich are my favorites
The Gryphon Tea Room – Grilled Pimento Cheese sandwich with bacon is tops
Breakfast
Cafe Florie – family-owned and fabulous
Express Cafe – simple croissant & cafe au lait by Ellis Square
B. Matthews – solid Southern fare on Bay Street
Firefly Cafe – On Troup Square – yummy hashbrowns
Clary’s – greasy spoon that has pet-friendly outdoor dining (they bring loads of treats!)
Coffee Shops
The Sentient Bean – Brewing Coffee & Community – great spot right by Forsyth/SoG (Sough of Gaston)
Foxy Loxy – my favorite latte SoG (South of Gaston) plus fabulous outdoor patio in back
Gallery Espresso – my favorite latte NoG (North of Gaston) PLUS people-watching on Chippewa Square is fun at one of their outdoor tables
Cafe Vas – close to many of the Busy Bee cottages (Claire’s, Sea Maiden, & Shutterbug)
