Hey, Busy Bees and all you who were born to run!  It’ll soon be time for the HSF Race For Preservation, so come on down!

Born To Run: HSF Race For Preservation

The 7th Annual Seacrest Race for Preservation will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 and it debuts exciting new features to one of our most fun running events.  Historic Savannah Foundation (HSF) has preserved and improved the beauty of Savannah and this race is a great way to celebrate our historic preservation.  In addition to promoting fitness, this race continues to educate participants, spectators and the public about the purpose of Historic Savannah Foundation and its ongoing preservation efforts throughout the city’s historic neighborhoods.

Born To Run: HSF Race For Preservation

This year, participants will enjoy an improved race course for 5K and 10K that features a new breathtaking route that highlights the historic beauty of Savannah’s neighborhoods. A fun-filled celebration for participants, family, and friends waits at the finish line.  It’s important to note the race registration fees have changed to offer savings for early birds, military, students and children under 12 years. A new “kiddie run” will encourage participation from the youngest up and coming runners.  Combine the goal of fitness with an appreciation for our beautiful city in one exciting event.

It’s time for another great adventure!  Come join us for Rails To Trails from a Savannah Cottage!

Rails To Trails

On January 12, 2013, the Savannah Rails to Trails 50K will be Savannah’s first Ultra-Marathon!  The race is set to take off on the grounds of the Historic Fort Pulaski and McQueen’s Island Rails to Trails – Savannah.
Rails To Trails From A Savannah Cottage
Now,  an Ultra Marathon may not be in your repertoire, yet, so the planners have made sure there is a race to suit your level.  There are two other races taking place, a 5k and 25K.  Your participation will help raise funding and awareness for the severely eroded conditions on parts of the Rails to Trails so that it can be properly restored and maintained.  You’ll be inspired by the natural beauty of this low country course as it weaves around the Ft. Pulaski grounds and the Rails to Trails.  Please join Run 4 a Reason, Low country Ultras, Fleet Feet Savannah and help save our Rails to Trails! Continue Reading »

Just A Swingin’: Henderson Golf Club

Hey, with calm winds and cooler temperatures you should just be swingin’!  Swingin’ the clubs at Henderson Golf Club, that is!

Just a swingin' Henderson Golf Club

Henderson Golf Club is just a little south of Savannah (about 15 miles) just off I-95 at the Highway 204/Abercorn intersection.  It’s tucked in behind fast food restaurants, truck stops and hotels and a great value for such a great course.  It’s not a bad choice price wise and course wise if you have both novice and veteran players in your group.  “Par” for our low country area, you’ll find lots of water and marshes, so be sure to have bug spray handy.
