Tea At Mrs. Davenport’s

Each year I look forward to learning more about history and traditions and one of my favorite Savannah programs is Tea At Mrs. Davenport’s!

Tea at Mrs. Davenport's

March means it’s time to make time to visit Davenport House Museum on Columbia Square.  Learn about tea traditions and experience an early 19th century tea in the historic atmosphere of the Isaiah Davenport House Museum. Patrons will tour areas of the historic home where tea service took place and will participate in an afternoon tea with costumed interpreters.  The performance requires that guests be able to walk up and down stairs and it’s a wonderful opportunity to see this extraordinary house. Say “I Do” Savannah Style

Savannah is always a romantic destination and especially so on Valentine’s Day!  You can even say “I Do” Savannah style!

Say "I Do" Savannah Style

Our wonderful Davenport House Museum will be available for Valentine’s Day weddings in the always beautiful Davenport House Garden.  From 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on February 14th, you can get married in the museum’s beautiful courtyard garden and make it a Valentine’s Day to remember! Ceremonies will be offered every 10  minutes.  A local judge will officiate and the price is a $100 donation to the museum.  Couples should reserve their time slot in advance, so call  912.236.8097 for additional information.

To complete your fairy tale experience, we have two very romantic cottages available for Valentine’s Day!

Say "I Do" Savannah Style

Eugenia and Louisa Kerr were sisters. Their father built them each a townhome next door to each other on W Harris Street in the 1800’s.  The main and carriage houses were renovated in the 1980’s and the current owners named their side “Eugenia.”   The Eugenia Kerr Carriage House has served as a home base for countless happy guests, some who stay for two nights and some who stay for months.

Say "I Do" Savannah Style

‘The Roost’ offers one large bedroom with a queen-sized bed made by a local artisan furniture maker with a luxurious mattress. Eclectic artwork and artifacts from the owner’s world travels dot the cottage. Walk into ‘The Roost’ and see the vintage typewriter and accountant’s desk along with Zapatista paintings, local artwork, and original prints from Nashville’s Hee Haw Press and Cuba’s international film festival. You can relax or dine on the covered front porch and watch the neighborhood go by or use the antique portable picnic table for picnics in nearby Forsyth Park.

Come say “I Do” Savannah style.  The garden will be beautiful, our cottages are always romantic and all this fairytale needs is you and your special someone!
